Staff from Neighbours surprised students of Golden Valley with a generous donation to help support the students trip to Gatineau for Destination Imagination. Students were incredibly grateful and Neighbours is honoured to help make this trip possible.

Premier François Legault, who announced his resignation on Wednesday morning, will remain the minister responsible for Abitibi-Témiscamingue until his successor is appointed, his office has confirmed. Daniel Bernard, a member of Parliament for Rouyn-Noranda-Témiscamingue, hopes to use this period to wrap up several issues, including air quality.

“I haven’t spoken with him [François Legault] yet, but my priority right now is to wrap up the issues we wanted to wrap up as quickly as possible,” Mr. Bernard said in an interview.

Among these issues, MP Daniel Bernard mentioned the Horne Smelter and the buffer zone, not to mention the Ressource Falco project. According to him, other issues include social and affordable housing in Rouyn-Noranda, the Amos Hospital Center, and forestry in Témiscamingue.

“The premier was committed to moving forward with issues in the region. He is still in office at this time, and the commitments he made will continue,” he adds.
